Motorcyclist taken to hospital with critical accidents following South Canterbury crash

A motorcyclist has been taken to Timaru Hospital in a critical situation following a collision with a automobile on State Freeway 1, simply south of Orari in South Canterbury.

A police spokeswoman confirmed they had been known as to the crash on the Orari-Rangitata Freeway (SH1), between Fitzgerald Rd and Looker Rd, about 11.35am.


A St John spokeswoman confirmed the motorcyclist had been been taken to Timaru Hospital in a critical situation.

The highway had been decreased to a single lane.
