ARLINGTON, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Tech has chosen Cornell College’s dean of engineering to run its new Innovation Campus in northern Virginia. Tech introduced Monday that Lance Collins is coming to Virginia after a decade on the helm of Cornell’s extremely ranked engineering faculty.
Virginia Tech’s $1 billion Innovation Campus will start accepting college students within the fall in house that Virginia Tech already has in northern Virginia. The primary campus constructing in Alexandria’s North Potomac Yard is scheduled for completion in 2024.
The Innovation Campus was cited as a significant component in luring Amazon to construct a second headquarters and convey greater than 25,000 jobs to northern Virginia.
