Thugs hijack election supplies for a ward in Cross River

Thugs have hijacked supplies meant for the Abi State constituency rerun election in Cross River State, south-south Nigeria.

The supplies, which had been being conveyed by boat to Afafanyi-Igonogoni ward, had been hijacked halfway into the voyage by unknown gun males.

Afafanyi-Igonogoni ward is likely one of the 5 wards the place the Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee, INEC, was to conduct the rerun election for Abi State constituency seat.

Safety operatives had been stated to be on the heels of the hijackers to retrieve the election supplies.
