Extreme climate in west Michigan final night time produced what the Nationwide Climate Service is investigating as a doable twister north of downtown Grand Rapids.
“There was a robust storm that moved in off of the lake and it obtained stronger because it moved east and collided with an outflow boundary from storms that have been farther north,” says NWS meteorologist Walt Felver within the Grand Rapids workplace. “When that occurred, that outflow boundary supplied a catalyst to spin up a probably small twister.”
