South Haven To Open New Fish Cleansing Station This Week

A brand-new fish cleansing station is about to open in South Haven this week. Assistant Metropolis Supervisor and Harbormaster Kate Hozier says the grand opening will probably be at 2 p.m. Friday in Black River Park and Boat Launch.

“We’re very excited,” Hozier tells WSJM Information. “It’ll be open previous to the Salute To Veterans, which is a fishing match for veterans on Saturday. We’re actually excited that it’s accomplished and will probably be open by then.”

Hozier says it took the town just a few years to get the mission achieved, and it’s absolutely accessible. She says that was a giant objective with the brand new station.

“Now we have now ramps that go as much as the constructing in addition to ramps that go into the fish cleansing station from the paid parking in addition to the non-paid parking space.”

A $150,000 grant from the Nice Lakes Fisheries Belief helped to offset a number of the prices. The brand new fish cleansing station will probably be open 24 hours a day, 7 days per week from April 15 although October, and hours from November by means of April 14 will probably be weather-dependent.
