About 2:40 a.m. Wednesday the North Plainfield Hearth Division and North Plainfield Police responded to a 911 name reporting a residential hearth on Maple Avenue.

READINGTON — A residence on Readington Highway was destroyed by hearth at about 12:20 a.m. Monday, township police mentioned in a launch. 

After they had been awoken by a smoke detector, a resident of the house alerted 911 of the fireplace, the discharge mentioned. All the inhabitants narrowly escaped the blaze as a consequence of their speedy evacuation, the discharge continued. 

Township police, Readington Volunteer Hearth Co. and Whitehouse Rescue Squad had been dispatched to the blaze, the discharge mentioned.

The reason for the fireplace is beneath investigation by the Readington Township Police Dept and Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Workplace, the discharge mentioned.
