HILLTOP LAKES, Texas — Texas officers on Monday launched the names of 4 individuals from Louisiana who authorities stated have been killed when their single-engine airplane crashed in a Texas pasture whereas making an attempt an emergency touchdown.
The crash occurred Sunday morning close to the airport in Hilltop Lakes, about 120 miles (193 kilometers) northwest of Houston. The Texas Division of Public Security, which has already stated that every one 4 individuals aboard the plane have been killed, recognized the victims as: 59-year-old Philip Ackel and 60-year-old Pauline Ackel, each of Natchitoches, and Kenneth Hix and Missy Lynn Hix, each 59 and from Lafayette.
Leon County Sheriff Kevin Ellis advised The Eagle newspaper that the airplane was making an attempt to make an emergency touchdown and was in radio contact with the Federal Aviation Administration on the time of the crash.
The airplane had taken off from Horseshoe Bay Resort, west of Austin, and was headed to Natchitoches, Louisiana, in accordance with flight information. The airplane was registered to an organization in Lafayette, Louisiana.
The Nationwide Transportation Security Board stated Sunday it was investigating the crash.
