A North Aurora police officer fatally shot a person who was holding a gun and attempting to get into a house within the west suburb Wednesday.
Officers first responded to the 600 block of Birchwood Drive about 11:15 p.m. for studies man armed with a handgun was making suicidal statements and threatening to shoot somebody, North Aurora police mentioned.
About 20 minutes later, they discovered the person, 54, driving a gold Lincoln Navigator close to Timber Oaks Drive and Eastview Street, police mentioned. The person was instructed to cease however continued into his driveway within the 600 block of Birchwood Drive.
The person then held a gun to his personal head earlier than getting out of his car and approaching the house, police mentioned. He tried to get in via the open storage door and ignored a number of instructions to cease earlier than he was shot.
