The Sheriff’s Workplace might be taking on safety for the Kalamazoo Division of Public Security.

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Workplace has introduced that it’s going to now be dealing with safety on the bus station downtown.
The announcement comes after the safety contract between the bus station and the Kalamazoo Division of Public Security ended on February 9.
It’s at present unknown when deputies will start monitoring the bus station, for the reason that Sheriff’s workplace is understaffed. New recruits are wanted to fill the open positions.
In response to Kalamazoo Sheriff Richard Fuller, there are at present 11 unfilled positions within the Sheriff’s workplace.
Within the meantime, safety on the bus station might be dealt with by Safety Plus, a personal safety firm.
The total contract has but to be finalized at the moment, however officers say that the protection will seemingly be much like the earlier settlement.
The settlement is at present projected to final by means of December 31, 2022.
