The post-mortem of a person fatally shot by two state troopers following a Dallas site visitors cease reveals he had 16 gunshot wounds, together with photographs to the top, back and front torso and each legs.
The Dallas Morning Information obtained the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s post-mortem report for 27-year-old Schaston Hodge. Troopers Joshua Engleman and Robert Litvin shot him Aug. 17 following what police described as a brief pursuit after the troopers tried to cease Hodge for failing to make use of a flip sign.
“They killed my son like he was an animal. They shot my son 16 occasions, they nearly blew his head off,” Hodge’s mom, Shandra Brackens-Hodge stated in a press release to the newspaper.
Lt. Lonny Haschel, a spokesman with the state’s Division of Public Security, stated Texas Rangers investigated and turned a report over to the Dallas County District Legal professional’s workplace and a grand jury declined to indict the troopers.
“Your complete incident, captured on video, was offered to a Dallas County Grand Jury and returned a No Invoice,” Haschel stated in an electronic mail, the newspaper reported.
DPS has declined to launch movies of the capturing.
The pair have been working in Dallas as a part of Gov. Greg Abbot’s resolution to ship troopers to assist Dallas police throughout a rise in violent crime.
