Vermont AG says non-fatal police capturing was justified

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) – A non-fatal officer concerned capturing in December was justified, the Vermont Legal professional Common’s workplace mentioned Tuesday.

Legal professional Common T.J. Donovan mentioned that after reviewing the proof his workplace declined to prosecute Vermont State Police troopers Robert Helm and Matthew Hood for capturing Greg West outdoors West’s Bristol dwelling.


Police had been known as to West’s dwelling after a relative known as to report he was intoxicated, armed with a shotgun and threatening. West refused repeated verbal instructions to drop his weapon. He was hit with a number of rounds from the troopers’ patrol rifles.

West, who was hospitalized after the capturing, is at the moment dealing with plenty of prices stemming from the incident.
