U.S. Navy Reserve sailors arrived Wednesday on board the USNS Consolation to help with preparations and get the ship prepared to move north to New York in response to coronavirus reduction efforts.
Greater than 1,200 Navy Reserve sailors and volunteers boarded the ship, together with medical personnel and different important rankings to help the mission. As soon as the ship arrives in New York, the Consolation will assist relieve hospitals within the metropolis in the course of the pandemic.
